It's time to hate on Jon and Kate

Since when have reality television stars been interesting enough to follow and put on the front pages of the country's best entertainment magazines? Let's be realistic: NEVER! Unless you are Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Speidi, Kristin Cavallari, or any other blond from the Hills, then you aren't very interesting at all. It seems that Jon and Kate's divorce, or separation, or whatever they are doing, is not going very well. In fact, their oldest children, Mady and Cara will celebrate their 9th birthday tomorrow and the birthday gift to the girls is another dispute between the two attention hogs.

It's all over People Magazine. Kate is telling her sob story again; she just wants a quiet, normal day with her girls. Jon is striking back at her for trying to change the arrangements. Kate has done nothing but make the separation difficult for her own children, trying to take away the time they see their father. Really though, does every little detail of Jon and Kate's break up need to be reported on? "Jon Gosselin claims 'Kate's hiding money'." "Kate Gosselin finally let's go of wedding ring." "Kate Gosselin fights to get money back." These are all headlines that have been in the news lately. Why people care is really ridiculous to me. Divorce is probably one of the most common problems America has today, but not every divorce is a headline in People. It can't be that Jon and Kate have eight children either, because if they really cared about their eight children they would stop talking to tabloids and handle their situation privately. Large families are so last season! It's become such a show it's amazing people still believe these two are serious. Speaking of shows, they don't even have one anymore. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm tired of hearing about this family. Oh, and stop giving Kate so much attention! Did she really need to go on the View to tell the world she would do anything for her children. Hello - any good mother should do anything she can for her children. If they are really going to fight over money and their children publicly, then they've lost all respect as parents.

Perhaps I'm being a little too harsh on them, seeing as how their fame came from their number. Not surprisingly, the amount of money they've brought in from their show is insane, accounting for their eight children. Realistically though, the family has eleven bank accounts and their children are all under 10. Is it too wrong to ask that a family this young be a little more conservative about their home issues?

  1. I completely agree with this whole article. I hated that damn show, I never understood why people were fooled into thinking a show about two retards with 8 children would be interesting. I didn't know it was cancelled though, I thought they changed it to just "Kate Plus Eight", did they get rid of it for good?
